Steve Ransom | Product Management

With ten years of product management experience, I can help you and your organization determine what to create, who to market it towards, how and when to launch it, and how to continuously improve what you’re creating.

I’ve always been into creative tech: form and function are equally important to me, and I emphasize the design of both.

In addition to validating market assumptions, talking to customers (or potential customers) always generates design inspiration for features or products. There is no greater asset a product designer can have than an enthusiastic customer. Respect the devotion your loyal fans have given you by ascertaining—regularly—their honest opinions.

Too many product designers, certain their idea is gold, simply avoid collecting data to prove it one way or the other. It’s not a sign of insecurity to test your hypothesis! Investing in research and evaluation can help ensure development investments will pay off.

Product management is needed to birth a product, to grow a product, and to evolve past a product. Whatever stage you’re at, I’m ready to participate.

AI cannot do anything creative; it can’t provide you with the spark you need to create a completely new product. AI can’t connect with your customers in a manner meaningful enough to suss out what’s keeping them from buying your wares or making recommendations to others. That’s why I choose carefully when to use AI. It can have its uses:

  • Summarizing and synthesizing user interviews
  • Drafting UI prototypes for new features
  • Writing thorough and testable requirements
  • Evaluating existing codebases for vulnerabilities
  • Estimating difficulty of writing, integrating and testing code

Once you’ve selected a start date, I’ll send you a contract and an invoice. Reserving dates here isn’t the contract itself; that comes separately, even for repeat clients.
